yesterday there was a cool friendly protest on campus. in front of cooper hall there was yellow caution tape and inside the tape 8 people lay "dead" from 12:30-3pm. this is from the oracle, which is printed daily "each of the deaths represented the death of a person who died of some form of war, be it the war against drugs, the war against races or the war against Iraq and the war against Afghanistan."

yesterday they also had free hiv testing and a candle light vigil for worlds aids day. this years focus is women "AIDS had a woman's face" said Kofi Annan, the secretary general of the united nations. this is from a flier "women across the globe do not have the same rights and access to employment, property, and education as men. as a result women and girls are being infected with HIV at a faster rate then men and boys."..."in Botswana the AIDS rate for women and girls 15 to 19 is 15.4%. for men and boys it si 1.2%. the rate for 25-29 year old women is 54% for men it is 29.7%" how does that happen?
"in africa the rate of female infections is 58% rising to 75% between the ages of 15 and 24."

the bush administration wants to spend millions of dollars on abstinence only sex education that puts teenagers at higher risk of HIV/AIDS.
i guess they figure people aren't going to have sex if they are told not to in school. if they don't know about sex they won't do it right?

The feminist majority foundation together with other women's rights and reproductive health groups are campaigning for the FDA to make emergency contraception "the morning after pill" available over the counter. www.feministcampus.org

republican legislators are ATTEMPTING to ban books with "gay" content from libraries in Alabama. mind you banning books from public libraries limits the function of: Free access to information. Rep. Gerald Allen is attempting to pass a bill banning "the purchase of textbooks or library materials that recognize or promote homosexuality as an acceptable lifestyle." books such as The Picture of Dorian Gray where the protagonists are homosexual.

"change does not come because we elect one guy over another. what brings about change is a movement amongst the people," historian Howard Zinn said tuesday in the special events center. "Movements have a trajectory, and at almost every point they seem destined to fail but democracy only comes alive when ordinary people begin to act and persist, take risks and have faith"-Zinn.

People who are born with
a dolphin spirit are naturally curious and
friendly. You almost always want to communicate
with someone and find out all about them. When
faced with a situtation you play around with it
until you find the answer of how to solve it.
You probably love puzzles and definitley enjoy
a challenge. You find away of making all those
necessary things you have to do in life fun.
Usually everyone you meet enjoys your company.
You brighten up other's life and try to stop
all the hatred, anger, and prejudice in the
world.
